TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
We here at Vicious Ink follow all Oakland County body art regulations for sterilization and cleanliness to ensure that your new tattoo is done properly. Our tattoo artists are licensed and have completed the Oakland Country blood-born pathogen certified training course. We also use the finest tattooing pigments available. By following these simple aftercare instructions, your tattoo will heal properly, and be a beautiful work of art for many years to come
Day 1
* Leave bandage on for 1 hour (if applicable).
* Immediately after removal of bandage, or an hour after procedure wash the area with liquid anti-bacterial soap, such as Dial liquid soap. (Use your fingers, NO wash cloths, loofahs, or sponges!)
* Rinse area thoroughly.
* Pat area dry with paper towel, do NOT use bath towels! (Bath towels have lint and harbor germs and that’s just gross)
* Now leave your tattoo alone! NO LOTIONS or OINTMENTS!
Day 2
* Wash the area with liquid anti-bacterial soap, such as Dial liquid soap. (Use your fingers, NO wash cloths, loofahs, or sponges!)
* Rinse area thoroughly.
* Pat area dry with paper towel, do NOT use bath towels! (Bath towels have lint and harbor germs and that’s just gross)
* Now leave your tattoo alone! NO LOTIONS or OINTMENTS!
Day 3 – Day 21
* Wash the area with liquid anti-bacterial soap, such as Dial liquid soap. (Use your fingers, NO wash cloths, loofahs, or sponges!)
* Rinse area thoroughly.
* Pat area dry with paper towel, do NOT use bath towels! (Bath towels have lint and harbor germs and that’s just gross)
* Apply a tiny amount of your artist recommended aftercare. (Rub in till no aftercare is visible, do this 1-3 times a day, depending on if your tattoo is dry and tight feeling.)
* During healing seeping of small amounts of blood and ink may occur, during the first 2 days.
* Some irritation and or soreness may occur at the site.
* Your tattoo will begin to peel within 2-4 days. DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO, scabbing and flaky skin will fall off naturally DO NOT PICK AT YOUR TATTOO!
* Do not shave over your tattoo for 2 weeks.
* ABSOLUTELY NO SWIMMING, SAUNAS, BATHS, OR HOT TUBS FOR 3 FULL WEEKS!
* ABSOLUTELY NO DIRECT SUNLIGHT FOR 3 WEEKS! Once your tatttoo is healed in 3 weeks, being in the sun is perfectly fine, PROVIDING YOU PUT AN SPF 50 OR ABOVE ON YOUR TATTOO ANY TIME YOU ARE IN THE SUN! (Otherwise your tattoo will fade!
