Recently, our piercer Randee at our Sterling Heights location has become a member of the APP. You can verify this by visiting safepiercing.org
What does that mean for you, as the customer? Not much has changed for you as a customer. Randee will still be offering the same quality services she has been since she started working for Vicious Ink in September of 2016.
What is the APP?
“The Association of Professional Piercers (APP) is an international health and safety organization. It is a nonprofit voluntary alliance dedicated to the dissemination of information about body piercing. Governed by a voluntary elected Board of Directors, the APP is a united group of piercing professionals that freely shares information to help fellow members, piercers, health care professionals, legislators, health inspectors, and the general public get the best and most up-to-date information about body piercing.” – safepiercing.org
The APP hosts an Annual Conference for piercers, health inspectors, and others related to the industry, in Las Vegas. The Conference provides piercing technique, business, and health education classes which Randee has attended since 2016 and will continue to attend each year. This way we can ensure that we are up to date on the most recent health and safety information pertaining to Body Piercing.
There are over 20 members of the APP located in Michigan, however, there are only about 10 members including Randee, within a 50 mile radius of Sterling Heights. There are way more piercers located in this area, but not all meet APP Standards. Be sure to do your research before getting a new piercing, and be sure to ask about their jewelry quality. If they are a piercer, but not an APP Member, ask why? You can never be too careful when it comes to your health and safety.
